Jack Cummings                 

Commercial Real Estate Expert and Author  

One of his publishers from McGraw Hill, Publishers, has referred to Jack as the most published contemporary author in the subject of Real Estate. His published works include numerous works with over 18 separate editions, and he has been published by McGraw Hill, Simon and Schuster, John Wiley and Sons, and Prentice Hall Publishers. Jack is also a published novelist with three such works, and is author of a travel book. Mr. Cummings has appeared on both radio and television in virtually every market in the United States in interviews and talk shows, always stressing the importance of establishing a worthy goal, and then reaching out for it, one step at a time.

Jack’s writing career was sandwiched in and between his business enterprises. He became President of the family real estate brokerage firm and during the tenure in which Cummings Realty operated under his leadership, Mr. Cummings has made it his business to represent the Realtor profession with all the dignity at his command. He was one of the founding members and the first Chairman of the Investment Division, which was the origin or the Commercial Society, and in several other Board committee positions. His educational activities at the Fort Lauderdale Board of Realtors have been extensive and have included monthly introduction programs for new members in “Creative Financing,” and other subjects. His teaching, always on a volunteer un-paid basis, continues into present times. It was the notoriety of his teaching that caused a young editor from Prentice Hall, Ted Nardin, to call Jack and ask if he would be interested in writing a book for Prentice Hall. That opened a floodgate of material to follow..

Jack devoted his efforts in commercial and international real estate. His international activities include the sale of hotels and other commercial properties in Mexico, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Panama, Spain, Portugal, France, England, the Azores, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt as well as many of the US States.

In representing his profession, Mr. Cummings has also served the community in many different ways. He has served as Board Member of the following civic, professional and community organizations:

 - Director Broward Industrial Development Board

Jack is recipient of many awards and commendations. He has been honored by the Florida Realtor magazine as writer of the year, and has over 5 commendations from the IESC for his volunteer work with the United States State Department programs in developing nations. These include assignments to Kyrgyzstan (first Soviet Republic to become an independent country following the break up of the Soviet Union) and Egypt. In Kyrgyzstan, Jack was consultant to the new Republic’s Tourism Ministry. During the 8 weeks of that assignment, he developed a business plan for promotion and development of new tourism, implemented his plan for the, first ever, international conference for eco tourism tour operators, and obtained financing for the conference from the European Bank for Recovery and Development. This effort helped form a united and cohesive union of travel operators in Kyrgyzstan. This lead to effective cooperation between local and governmental agencies to promote eco-tourism. 

In the past four years Mr. Cummings has participated in seven separate assignments in Egypt. All have been real estate oriented and include several major developments along the Red Sea, the Gulf of Suez and the Mediterranean coast. Jack participates in such IESC programs annually, and sets aside four to eight weeks a year in this volunteer work.

Jack Cummings is a tireless writer and speaker. He is constantly on the go, and always has a book in the works.
